Glassflake at in-cosmetics Global: Advanced Materials for Next-Generation Formulations

5th May 2026

Glassflake recently exhibited at in-cosmetics Global (14–16 April), presenting its range of engineered glass flake technologies for the beauty and personal care sector.

Located at Stand 2G618, the team engaged with formulators, product developers, and industry professionals to explore how advanced material solutions can support performance, consistency, and innovation in modern cosmetic formulations.

Showcasing Engineered Borosilicate Technologies

At the event, Glassflake highlighted three key product ranges:

Puraflake — an engineered, high-purity alternative to traditional mineral fillers such as talc and mica, designed to enhance texture, slip, and colour performance across a wide range of cosmetic applications.

Moonshine — borosilicate effect pigment technology delivering high-impact optical effects, enabling formulators to achieve enhanced visual differentiation in colour cosmetics and personal care products.

Astral — the thinnest borosilicate glass flake available, offering exceptional lightness and sensory performance where feel, finish, and application are critical.

Key Industry Insights

Discussions throughout the event highlighted several clear trends shaping the sector:

  • Increased demand for talc alternatives, driven by regulatory awareness and the need for consistent, high-performance materials
  • Growing focus on sensory performance, with formulators prioritising texture, slip, and skin feel alongside functionality
  • Continued interest in visual differentiation, particularly through advanced effect pigments in colour cosmetics

These trends reinforce the role of engineered materials in enabling formulators to meet evolving performance and consumer expectations.

Industry Perspective

Simon Brigham, Managing Director of Glassflake, commented:

“in-cosmetics Global provided an excellent platform to engage directly with formulators and industry professionals. We’re seeing a clear shift towards higher performance, more consistent material solutions — particularly in areas such as talc replacement, sensory optimisation, and visual differentiation.

Our engineered glass technologies are well aligned with these requirements, offering formulators greater control over both performance and aesthetics. The level of interest at this year’s event reinforces the growing role of advanced materials in next-generation cosmetic formulations.”

Looking Ahead

The strong level of engagement at in-cosmetics Global reflects a growing awareness of the benefits of engineered glass materials within the cosmetics sector.

Glassflake continues to work closely with partners and customers to develop solutions that meet the changing demands of formulation science.
